Innovation in English Language teaching competition

The British Council is running a competition to identify and reward innovation in ELT in public primary schools. The winner will fly to London and be invited to attend the IATEFL Conference in Harrogate from 7 to 11 April 2010. We would like to thank our sponsors British Airways, IATEFL and Cambridge ESOL who make this amazing opportunity possible.

The Hornby Educational Trust offers scholarships to study a one-year full-time Master's Degree in the UK in an ELT-related subject. We are looking for people who want to make a real difference on return to their countries and who will inspire their colleagues.

The Inca: a lost society

This reading lesson is based on a text about Inca society. Reading can often be a very solitary activity, but this lesson maximises communication and interaction among your students, and gets them to work collaboratively and develop their own opinions.

The Great Plant Hunt...following in Darwin's footsteps

The Great Plant Hunt gets kids aged 5 to 11 exploring the natural world through interesting school science projects. In the Teachers' Area, you'll find loads of resources you can adapt and use locally! Developed by the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, the project celebrates 200 years since Charles Darwin's birth.

New LearnEnglish Kids

LearnEnglish Kids is changing. All of your favourite resources for children who are learning English are moving to a site with a great new design. Be one of the first to have a look at our beta site. Tell us what you think! Explore!
